Brand specific (official) dealers

These dealers are affiliated with a specific camper brand, such as Hymer, Carthago, Knaus, Bürstner, etc.

Features:

  • New campers from one (or several) brands.
  • Original parts and service according to factory standards.
  • Often warranty and after-sales service included.

Camper dealers

They offer campers from several brands, both new and used.

Advantages:

  • More choice.
  • Good place to compare different types and brands.
  • Often there are also trade-in options for your old camper.

Multi-brand dealers

These mainly focus on used campers.

Features:

  • Large selection of used cars in different price ranges.
  • Often cheaper than new campers.
  • Sometimes with warranty or Bovag certification.
  • Sometimes without any guarantee of a take-away price. The advice is to pay attention to this!

Specialized used car dealers

They build custom campers, for example based on a van (bus camper).

Ideal for:

  • People with specific wishes or a unique design.
  • Off-grid campers or tiny homes on wheels.

One of these (fast growing) companies is Ventje.

Camper builders / custom-build specialists

Some dealers combine sales with rental.

Good to know:

  • You can first rent a camper type to see if you like it.
  • They often also sell ex-rental campers for a lower price.
