Sustainability
Sustainability means to me living and acting in a way that does not exhaust the earth, nature and society, so that everything can continue to exist well in the future. And that requires being aware and taking responsibility. It is not easy, but every little bit helps.
Protection of nature
Nature is the main reason why many people go camping.
By traveling sustainably you prevent damage to forests, mountains, lakes and animals.
Waste, pollution and disruption of ecosystems can permanently damage vulnerable natural environments.
Limiting CO₂ emissions
Campervans use more fuel than regular cars, so they also have a larger carbon footprint.
By driving more economically, driving fewer kilometers and using renewable energy (such as solar panels), you limit your impact. In addition, my experience is that when you are at your destination, you take the bike or go for a walk, unlike people who go on holiday by car, who easily take the car again for trips.

Future oriented.
Popular camping sites quickly become overloaded with rubbish, wild camping outside the rules and soil damage.
Sustainable behaviour ensures that camping remains possible for future generations.

Respect for local communities.
By buying local and sustainable (for example regional products instead of supermarket chains), you support small communities.
Respectful handling of local rules regarding camping, water use and waste also prevents nuisance and conflicts.

Restriction of raw material use.
For example, by using water, gas and electricity sparingly, you will deplete natural resources less quickly.
Reducing water consumption and waste production is crucial, especially in mountain areas or nature reserves.

Awareness and good example.
By traveling sustainably yourself, you show others that traveling and respect for the planet go hand in hand.
Especially in busy places, you also inspire others to be more aware of their travel behavior.
